Founded in March 2020 by Nosika and Michael Fisher, Fisher Street Properties is not just a real estate investment company; it’s a woman-owned, veteran-owned venture built on the foundation of a military family’s unique experiences.
As a military family, the Fishers have undergone seven moves in the last decade, spanning three different states and two continents. Amidst the challenges of frequent relocations, living in both apartments and houses, they intimately understood the transient nature of residing in someone else’s home. This feeling of impermanence was particularly poignant as they navigated these changes with their two children, cherished cats, and a commitment to fostering a close-knit community wherever they landed.
It was from this shared experience — of missing the familiarity of their own space and the desire to create a sense of home — that Nosika and Michael embarked on their real estate journey. Fisher Street Properties was born out of the drive to transform rental properties into more than just dwellings; it’s about crafting spaces where tenants, much like the Fishers, feel the warmth of home. This commitment extends beyond properties and transactions; it’s about building a sense of community, bridging the gap between tenants and the place they call home.
Meet Nosika and Michael
In addition to her tech career, Nosika is a devoted real estate agent in Virginia, balancing her analytical mindset and data-driven approach with helping clients buy and sell homes. She thrives on the dynamic challenges presented by both the tech and real estate worlds.
Beyond her professional commitments, Nosika finds joy in traveling with her family and immersing herself in foreign cultures, cuisines, and languages. Her multifaceted interests reflect a life dedicated to innovation, real estate, and the exploration of diverse global experiences.
Michael’s commitment to service has taken him on deployments to Afghanistan and Kuwait, as well as to Central America aboard the USNS Comfort hospital ship. Beyond his military endeavors, Michael is driven by a passion for real estate investing and exploring diverse corners of the world.
With a rich background in entomology and a Ph.D. to his name, Michael brings a unique perspective to both his military service and real estate ventures. His experiences in disease surveillance and global deployments have instilled in him a deep understanding of the world, making him a valuable asset to both Fisher Street Properties and the broader real estate community. Outside of his professional commitments, Michael finds joy in traversing the globe, combining his love for real estate with a curiosity about different cultures and landscapes.
